Who we are

Meet our therapists

Our team of experienced, dedicated Speech & Language Therapists genuinely love what they do – and have supported children across a variety of settings within the UK and internationally, in both private practice and the NHS.

All our therapists have an enhanced DBS, and are members of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and the Health Care Professionals Council.

Laura Elwell

Founder, Speech & Language Therapist

BSc (Hons) Speech & Language Therapy, MASLTIP MRCSLT MHCPC

I feel so lucky to love my job and the work I do. Over the past 15 years I have worked closely with many families in schools, homes and clinics supporting children to develop their communication skills.

Starting out at the London Children’s Practice, I now specialise in working with early years and primary aged children. I am particularly passionate about working with speech sound disorders and supporting autistic children and their families to help maximise communication through visual supports, SCERTS targets and the Attention Autism programme.

I bring enthusiasm, encouragement and playfulness to my sessions alongside excellent clinical skills.

A bit about me: I live in Cherhill with my husband, three small children, and our border terrier Elliedog.

Lana Loubser

Speech & Language Therapist

I have supported early years and primary school aged children with a range of speech, language and communication needs for over 30 years.

I value the role that parents and families play in the development of their children’s speech, language and communication abilities and therefore enjoy working shoulder to shoulder with them as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

I have worked in clinics, mainstream schools and special educational or complex needs settings. I am an eager and experienced provider of staff trainings on a broad range of communication-related topics.

A bit about me: I enjoy spending time in nature or at home with my family and a cat curled up on my lap.

For the past 12 years I have been working within early years settings, mainstream schools, colleges, and special school settings supporting complex communication as well as eating and drinking disorders. I have worked with children and young adults from the ages of 2 through to 25 delivering therapy individually and within small groups.

I am passionate and enthusiastic about working jointly with education professionals and families to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people. I aim to deliver therapy in a calm, fun and personalised manner to engage the children and work towards functional and purposeful goals.

A bit about me: I live in Oxfordshire and love to be outside whether walking, running, or playing hockey.

I am particularly passionate about working with young people who present with more complex difficulties alongside their communication needs including social, emotional and mental health needs, neurodiversity and autism.

I feel fortunate to have such a rewarding job; collaborative working with families and settings in order to provide the best support and interventions for a child is at the heart of my practice.

A bit about me: I am lucky enough to have family in beautiful North Devon so am often found enjoying long weekends of beach walks and sea swims.

Since graduating I’ve been lucky to work with a variety of client groups across early years, primary and secondary. Every day has offered new or rewarding opportunities to build relationships with clients and establish strong clinical skills.

With a particular love of promoting communication in early years and delivering staff training, I aim to be approachable and engaging so young people, staff and families feel at ease and motivated.

A bit about me: Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, particularly in my home town – Malmesbury, where I live with my husband.

What families have said…

“Our son has been attending regular sessions with Lana who is exceptionally supportive and proactive towards his language development. The sessions and advice are delivered in a very reassuring and effective way, for both our son and us. A very positive experience with a highly professional team.”

Gavin, Parent

“So To Speak have been absolutely key in my sons speech and language progression… facilitating what local authorities could not provide. He absolutely loves his sessions, and as a parent it is so nice to have the support. Without them, introducing my son into education would have been a totally different experience, and for that I am forever grateful to them.”

Danni, Parent

“Molly has been fantastic helping my 9 year old daughter with her stammer… teaching her tools to use and bring back her confidence, self esteem and reading. Really happy with everything, and so is my daughter! 10/10 recommend. ”

Chris, Parent
