For parents & carers
Speech, language and communication play a pivotal role in all of our lives. Being able to build relationships, negotiate, learn and socialise are paramount to our children’s future success.
How we can help
Children develop skills at different rates; whilst some develop communication skills quickly, for other children it takes longer – with additional hurdles for them to face. These children may benefit from speech and language therapy.
Step one:
An initial assessment is usually carried out in one of our clinics to understand the nature of your child’s difficulties and their current level of need.
We explore your child’s strengths as well as areas for development, and take time to listen to family and school concerns.
Step two:
From this, we create an individual therapy plan tailored to your child and designed to fit around you and your family.
What we offer
Initial assessment
Individualised, dynamic, timely
Therapy
Accessible, motivating, fun
How long are sessions?
Therapy sessions usually last 30 or 45 minutes and include time to discuss progress and share ideas for home practice. As your child’s needs change, the frequency of sessions will be reviewed and adjusted.
How does it work?
Therapy is enjoyable, dynamic and evidence-based, using a combination of apps and devices alongside traditional toys, games and motivating resources.
Do I need to be supported by NHS?
Your child may be on a waiting list for, or already receiving support from, their local NHS Speech and Language Therapy service. Where this is the case, private and NHS therapists will liaise to ensure therapy goals and targets are aligned.
